Corbett National Park Tourist Zones

The Corbett Tiger Reserve is a huge jungle and the finest wilderness areas of the world. Corbett National Park is famous as the "Land of Roar, Trumpet and wild animals Song,” Thousands of tourist visits Corbett everyday so, for the convenience of visitors and better tourism management, park is divided into six different ecotourism zones:-



Dhikala Zone : The largest and the most favourite safari zone of Corbett Park is famous for it's natural beauty as well as offering the best sight for several exotic fauna as: Hog Deer, Wild Elephants, Leopards, Royal Bengal Tigers, Crocodiles, Alligators, Golden Mahasheer, Trout, Birds, Wild Boar, Martin, Otters, Jakal etc. The entry gate “Dhangari Gate” is 18 km away from Ramnagar city. You can visit Dhikala zone with Open Jeep, Elephant and Sixteen seater Canter (Open Bus). Night stay in Dhikala Forest Lodge is allowed and hard core wildlife enthusiasts never want to miss it.



Bijrani Zone : A great place to spot tigers, wild elephants, flying birds. It is very popular among tourists for it's heavenly natural beauty, tranquil atmosphere, wonderful landscape and dense Sal forests combined with open grasslands. Bengal Tigers, Deers, Birds, Wild Boar, Jungle Cat, Martin, Sloth Bear, Langoor, Monkeys, Cobra, Krait, King Cobra, Lizards etc. are main attractions. The entry gate 'Aamdanda Gate ' is just 01 Km from Ramnagar city. Experience this wonderful and beautiful forest zone with Jeep and Elephant safari.



Jhirna Zone : Located on the southern periphery of Corbett Tiger Reserve is another popular tourist zone included in 1994 in the Jim Corbett National park. The zone is open for tourist round the year. Good visibility of wild animals- Asian elephant, sloth bear, reptiles, birds, wild bear, deers, leopards and Bengal Tigers are main attractions. The entry gate 'Dhela Gate' is located at 17 km from Ramnagar city. Visit this most eye-catching spots inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve only with open jeep.



Dhela Zone : Dhela is the newest ecotourism zone of Corbett National Park included in November 2014. This buffer zone area is the only area open to tourists in Corbett Tiger Reserve. The zone is retaining the attention of large number of tourist for it's wealthy flora and fauna - Wild elephants, Leopards, Bengal Tigers, Jungle Cats, Wild Bear, Deer, Hornbill and other bird species, Martin etc. is attracting thousands of tourist every year. Dhela Ecotourism Zone is also open round the year for tourists. The common entry gate of Dhela Zone and Jhirna Zone is 'Dhela Gate' which is located at an approximate distance of 17 Kms from Ramnagar City. You can visit Dhela zone only with open jeep.



Durga Devi Zone : Durga Devi Zone is also known as hill safari zone located at the north-eastern boundary of Corbett Tiger Reserve. This area is cris crossed by Ramganga and Mandal rivers at several places and famous for sighting wild elephants. Durga Devi zone is called bird watcher's heaven on planet. Famous Mahsheer fish can also be seen in the river water of Durga Devi zone. Entry gate is located at an approximate distance of 30 kms from Ramnagar city. You can visit this wildlife zone only with open jeep.



Sitabani Buffer Zone : Sitabani Zone is actually just buffer forest area and doesn't fall under the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Temples, Natural beauty, beautifull flying birds, etc. makes Sitabani area very attractive. You can enjoy Jeep, Elephant safari without any prior permission.
